Today we have a fun craft and sensory play activity to share which brings a little bit of the beauty of the outdoors, right into your home.
Making your own playdough is quick and simple to do. Not only will your little one enjoy the creating process, but then the fun begins and they can play and create all different elements, just let their imagination take over.
To turn your basic mixture into Fairy Playdough all you need to add is a selection of dried flowers. These are a great addition as they add another level to this sensory experience with their fragrance.
Fairy Playdough Recipe
8 tbsp plain flour
2 tbsp table salt
60ml warm water
Drizzle of oil
Dried lavender / dried rose buds.
All you need to do is mix all your dry ingredients in a bowl, then add some of the water bit by bit until it comes together to form a dough. Knead for a few minutes until it is smooth pliable dough, and then finish off with your choice of dried flowers. We include dried lavender and Rose Buds in many of Fairy Garden kits.
The Fairy Playdough is such a fun indoor activity – smells nice, looks pretty and soft and squishy. Fun on lots of levels.
You could extend the life of the scented play dough by adding some essential oils.
We hope you and your little ones use our Fairy Playdough recipe soon. It’s a great activity for this February half term when we can’t guarantee the weather for some outdoor fun.
